Imagine all the bells in town playing on Christmas Morning; every set of bells has a different tone, starts at a different time, and plays in their own rythmn. Think Mannheim Steamroller. That's the effect I was trying for here.
The individual parts are very simple but the overlapping of parts create complex rhythmns and harmonies.
If your band has played mixed meters this piece will be easy. If not, this is a good place to start. The 7/8 and 5/8 sections have clear strong rhythmns that kids will catch on to quickly. |
