I wrote this one as a competition opener for a band which had never gone to contest. The band was tiny, less than 20 horns and only two trumpets, but the director was ambitious and the kids worked hard. As a result they made it into SC's Single-A top ten!
I did a very minor rewrite for the free version, mainly to add parts for tuba and horn, which this group didn't have. |

I'm going to post a piece of new free music each two weeks! I'm trying to capture the energy and excitement of a real band playing pep music in the stands, complete with FFF dynamics and pounding drums.
Just be glad I didn't duplicate the balance and intonation of 4th quarter, after everyone's lip is shot!
